St. Patrick's Day Fun in the Tri-Valley

Are you ready to paint the town green? St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, the East Bay knows how to celebrate! Nearby Dublin, California has a rich Irish history, including Irish settlers who founded the town in 1850. The city's crest is a shamrock and still hosts a really great “shindig” for St. Patrick’s Day.

Let's kick things off Dublin-style at the 40th Annual St. Patrick's Day Festival

Mark your calendars for Saturday and Sunday, March 16th-17th at the Dublin Civic Center because this party is going to be full of Irish fun! With festivities running from 10am to 8pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday, you'll have plenty of time to soak up the Irish vibes.

Now, let's talk highlights, shall we? Get ready to dive into the Irish spirit with three stages of music and dance! From toe-tapping folk tunes to high-energy Celtic Rock, bagpipes, and non-stop Irish dance performances, we've got your weekend soundtrack sorted! And let's not forget about the food and drink – we're talking corned beef sliders, Irish bangers and mash, Guinness-marinated tri-tip, boxty, fish and chips, and so much more! Plus, don't miss out on festival favorites like kettle corn and international delights from teriyaki chicken to beef kabobs.

But wait, there's more! With over 250 booths at the Irish Marketplace, you'll have a blast browsing unique Celtic artwork, hand-knit wool sweaters, dazzling jewelry, and more. And for the thrill-seekers out there, we've got carnival rides galore! And don't even get us started on the St. Patrick's Day-themed drone show – it's going to be great!

Join the festivities at the 40th St. Patrick's Day Parade!

Head to Downtown Dublin to catch the Dublin Lions Club St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 9:30 a.m. The parade kicks off at Dublin Boulevard and Amador Plaza Road ending near the Dublin Senior Center. Bring your own chairs and blankets to snag the perfect spot along the parade route and enjoy the spectacle of over 80 entries, including lively marching bands, festive floats, Irish bagpipes, local dance troupes, equestrians, and more! It's a celebration you won't want to miss!

Feeling outdoorsy?

Lace up your hiking boots and head to Mount Diablo State Park for some seriously stunning views, wildflowers, and vibrant green hills. Trust us, you won't want to miss the Briones–Mount Diablo Regional Trail to Wall Point Road – it's a hike less traveled, but oh-so-worth it!

In the mood for a true Irish feast?

And last but not least, before you head out for all that Irish fun, whip up a delicious corned beef and cabbage crockpot dinner! It's quick, easy, and guaranteed to get your taste buds dancing an Irish jig!

The Takeaway

Let's paint the town green and make some memories to last a lifetime! See you at the festival, folks!
